Soldier arrested over nail bomb

A 19-year-old British soldier has been arrested under the Terrorism Act after a nail bomb was found at a house in Salford last week. He was arrested by military police at an army base in Germany and brought back to the UK for questioning

Police found nail bomb in quiet residential street

The residential street where police found a nail bomb on Thursday is in Patricroft in the Eccles area of Salford just west of Manchester.

Manchester Evening News reports that a number of the surrounding roads were cordoned off on Thursday, including Parr Street, Ivy Street, Fir Street and Lewis Street.
