Egyptian students loyal to the Muslim Brotherhood started fires amid clashes with police at the Cairo campus of Al-Azhar University, it has been reported. A student activist claims a supporter of the Brotherhood had been killed.

Egypt arrests Brotherhood supporters under terror law

Egyptian police have arrested 16 Muslim Brotherhood supporters a day after the group was declared a terrorist organisation, the state news agency said.

The men were arrested in the Nile Delta province of Sharkiya on suspicion of crimes including "promoting the ideology of the Muslim Brotherhood group, distributing its leaflets, and inciting violence against the army and police".
