Retired British couple Paul and Sandra Dunham have been extradited from the UK to the United States to face fraud charges, Scotland Yard has said.
The transfer of the husband and wife, both 58, was delayed after they tried to take their own lives last week prior to a previously scheduled extradition.
The pair took an overdose - later described by a judge as a "cry for help" - the night before they were due to hand themselves into police to be handed over to US marshals at Heathrow Airport.
The grandparents were today received by the American officials at the airport's Terminal Four and departed on a flight around 2.15pm. They deny the allegations against them.
