Israel-Palestine crisis 'can only be resolved peacefully'

The Chinese foreign ministry has urged Palestine and Israel to return to the negotiating table and avoid any action that may escalate tensions. Speaking at a press conference, spokesman Qin Gang said:

The current Palestine-Israel conflict shows military forces cannot solve the problem, but only increase hostility and hatred, wreak more havoc on people, and delay the coming of peace. This conflict can only be resolved with peaceful means.

China is willing to work with all parties of the international society, and play an active and constructive role in the Israel-Palestine peace process.

– Spokesman, Chinese foreign ministry
