Three top Hamas commanders killed in Israeli strike

Three senior Hamas military commanders have been killed in Israeli air strike in the Gaza Strip, the Islamist militant group said.

Hamas named the men as Mohammed Abu Shammala, Raed al-Attar and Mohammed Barhoum and said they were killed in a bombing of a house in the southern town of Rafah.

US condemns 'disgraceful shelling' at UN school in Gaza

The United States criticised the "disgraceful shelling" at a UN school in Gaza and urged Israel to do more to prevent civilian casualties in its war against Hamas militants.

The US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki also called for an investigation into recent attacks on UN schools.

The United States is appalled by today's disgraceful shelling outside an UNRWA school in Rafah sheltering some 3,000 displaced persons, in which at least ten more Palestinian civilians were tragically killed.
