Duchess to miss Invictus Games opening due to morning sickness

The Duchess of Cambridge, who is suffering from acute morning sickness, will not attend the Invictus Games opening ceremony this evening or the athletics event tomorrow, Kensington Palace said.

Kate, who is expecting her second child, was also forced to cancel an engagement in Oxford earlier this week.

Meanwhile, David Beckham has given some friendly advice to the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge ahead of their new arrival - get some more sleep.

"With the commitments that they have to be a great mum and dad is pretty incredible," Beckham said.

There is already speculation that the royal couple's second child could be due in April.

William's 'baby hint' was dispelled by Kate's drinking

During their last overseas trip Prince William appeared to 'drop hints' that Prince George could soon have a younger sibling.

When Cynthia Read presented the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with a lace shawl she had made for the young prince, William told her: "You might have to make another one soon."

The presentation, on behalf of the New Zealand government, occurred during the couple’s sixth day of their royal tour.

The storm these comments made was quickly dispelled as the Duchess was seen shortly after enjoying a glass of wine and a white water boat ride.
