NYC 'die-in' held during protests against police violence

Protesters across America gathered on Friday to show their discontent at the use of deadly force by police when dealing with ethnic minorities.

In New York and Boston many people lay down on the floor in the middle of busy department stores and train stations to hold 'die-in's' as other protesters marched down main city streets holding banners saying 'black lives matter'.

Last night's protests mark the third night of action by Americans who disagree with the deadly force used by police officers, and follows the death of Akai Gurley, 28, who was gunned down in a dimly lit stairwell in Brooklyn, New York.
