Ukraine's President Petro Poroshenko has said the agreement reached with Russia in Minsk yesterday is no guarantee of peace in his country.
"I don't want anyone to have any illusions. We're still a long way from peace," he said.
"Nobody has a strong belief that the peace conditions which were signed in Minsk will be implemented strictly," he added.
Thousands of Russians are marching in Moscow to mark the first anniversary of what they viewed as a "coup" in neighbouring Ukraine.
