Thousands take part in biggest ever London Marathon

More than 38,000 runners, fundraisers and elite racers have lined up to take part in this year's London Marathon - making it the biggest in the event's history.

World record holder Paula Radcliffe, 41, completed her final competitive marathon, saying the "magic of the London Marathon" helped her through.

American Joshua George wins men's wheelchair race

US paralympian Joshua George has narrowly beaten Britain's David Weir after a sprint finish in the men's wheelchair London Marathon today.

George won in 1:31:31. Weir was one second back, with Masazumi Soejima coming third in 1:31:33.
