Speaking as he met with EU leaders in Brussels today the Chancellor of the Exchequer stated he had come with a clear mandate to reform Britain's EU agreement "to create jobs and improve living standards".

Osborne also said there should not be any doubt that a referendum on Britain's EU membership would be held following initial negotiations and warned that other EU members "shouldn't underestimate our determination to succeed for working people of Britain and the whole of the EU".
