The plans include the creation of a joint police operation aimed at tackling the people-smugglers who profit from the desperation of those trying to reach British shores.

Government to strip benefits for failed asylum seekers

The Government has said it will strip away benefits for failed asylum seekers and their children to prevent others from risking their lives to reach the UK.
