Former SNP leader Alex Salmond has accused British Prime Minister David Cameron of "shaming humanity" by refusing to sign an agreement that would see England take on its share of the influx of migrants.
Salmond told ITV Border: "Cameron is shaming not just the UK, he is shaming humanity with his total abject refusal to accept any joint collective responsibility."
On a visit to Jordan, David Cameron says that the EU must "follow Britain's lead" and fund more refugee camps around Syria.
The prime minister has insisted the UK will not participate in plans to redistribute 160,000 refugees who have arrived in Europe.
