Belgian police have detained ten people on suspicion of operating a recruitment ring for so-called Islamic State.

It comes after police raided a number of homes in Brussels this morning, seizing computer equipment and mobile phones which they believe could hold evidence of dealings with the militant group.

Belgium's federal prosecutors confirmed investigations had pointed "to several persons having left for Syria to join Islamic State."
