Severed foot found by dog walker in Bath park

Police are investigating a severed foot found by a dog walkers in a park in Bath.

Simon Clark said he had made the gruesome discovery while out with his partner and their dog Ollie in the city's Weston Park East.

Another woman's dog had spotted the foot lying in a corner of the park, he said.

"It was severed about four inches above the ankle," he told the Bath Chronicle newspaper. "It looked like it had been dug up."

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset constabulary said the foot has been sent for forensic analysis in an attempt to determine who it belongs to.

Specialist crime scene investigators are examining the scene, which has been cordoned off.
