EU leaders agree on migrant deal with Turkey

President of the European Council Donald Tusk has confirmed all EU leaders have reached an agreement with Turkey's prime minister to curb the migration crisis.

The new arrangements could come into force as soon as Sunday after a revised deal was reached between Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu and European Council president Donald Tusk in Brussels.

Tusk warns migrant deal no silver bullet as EU celebrates

The EU will significantly toughen its borders against migrants trying to get to Europe under a new deal agreed by leaders today.

Thousands of people arriving by boat the Greek islands will be sent back to Turkey from Sunday.

Donald Tusk, the president of the European Council, hailed the deal after complex negotiations, but warned it was no "silver bullet".

"The reality is more complex," he added.
