Chilly start to the day with dry and sunny spells later

It is a chilly but bright start to the day for northern parts. Meanwhile central and southern England, Wales and Northern Ireland start cold and rather cloudy.

It will be a fine day across the north and east of the country with plenty of sunny spells. As for the rest of the UK, the cloud from this morning will gradually melt away to leave a dry and bright afternoon with some sunny spells at times.

Feeling pleasant in any sunshine, combined with the light winds, giving a top temperature of 16 Celsius (61F).
