Leave and Remain go head to head in EU referendum debate

Members of the 'Remain' and 'Leave' camps have clashed in the ITV Referendum Debate, with accusations of lying and scaremongering thrown back and forth ahead of the vote in two weeks time.

SNP leader Nicola Sturgeon, Angela Eagle and Amber Rudd appeared on behalf of Vote Remain. Former London Mayor Boris Johnson, Andrea Leadsom and Gisela Stuart represented Vote Leave.

Sturgeon highlights importance of immigrant NHS workers

Britain would have a stronger NHS if it remains in the EU, Nicola Sturgeon said.

"You're more likely to be treated by an immigrant on the NHS than you are to be treated in the next bed to an immigrant," she said.

Ms Sturgeon added: "I wouldn't trust Boris Johnson with a health service as far as I could throw Boris Johnson."

She added that existing pressure on public services was due to budget cuts.
