Euro 2016: Police arrest 36 people after clashes in Lille

French police have arrested at least 36 people following clashes with football fans in Lille.

On several occasions police charged crowds of chanting supporters, and red flares were let off amid a tense stand-off with officers.

The clashes followed the conclusion of Russia's match against Slovakia and come ahead of the England and Wales match to be played in nearby Lens later on Thursday.

Russian supporters arrested following Marseille violence

Six Russian supporters have been arrested in France, on suspicions they could pose a threat to public festivities.

The supporters, who have not been named, were arrested following clashes before the England v Russia match in Marseille on Sunday.

They were arrested in Marseille and Nice on Tuesday.
