Politician Sir Clement Freud accused of child sexual abuse

Sir Clement Freud, the late politician and broadcaster, has been accused of abusing two girls in the late 1940s and 1970s.

Two women have told ITV Exposure of the abuse they suffered at the hands of Freud, who died in 2009.

A third alleged victim has told ITV News she was "paralysed by fear" after being targeted by him.

Police consider criminal probe into Freud claims

The Met Police has said it will make an assessment of allegations that Sir Clement Freud abused two girls in the 1940s and the 1970s.

In an ITV documentary to be broadcast tonight at 11:05pm, Sylvia Woosley and a woman who has asked to remain anonymous accuse the former MP and broadcaster, who died in 2009, of sexually abusing them.

Following the transmission of the documentary this evening (15 June), the MPS will make an assessment of the allegations to ensure the safeguarding of anyone at risk, and also consider if any criminal investigation is required to bring any living persons to justice.
