Police are looking into suspected post-referendum racism after discriminatory notes were allegedly posted through the letterboxes of Polish residents in Cambridgeshire.
Laminated cards reading "Leave the EU - no more Polish vermin" with a Polish translation on the other side were allegedly delivered to people in the Polish community in Huntingdon.
According to local media, the cards were also distributed near a school in the town, and it is thought to be a reaction to Britain voting to leave the EU.
Inspector Nick Percival said police were "aware" and investigating.
He urged anyone with information about where the notes came from to speak to police.
