Multiple people, including a police officer, were injured after a gunman opened fire outside a courthouse.
Emergency services were called to Berrien County Courthouse in Michigan following the shooting on Monday afternoon, according to NBC.
Michigan State Police and the Berrien County Sheriff's Department confirmed there had been a shooting.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder said police had secured the scene and begun an investigation into the shooting.
The shooting comes just days after a gunman shot dead five police officers in Dallas - itself in the wake of two unarmed black men being fatally shot by law enforcement.
