Portuguese coach Pedro Caixinha has been cleared to take over as Rangers manager - though he is unlikely to lead the team against Celtic.

His current club, Qatari side Al Gharafa, announced on Twitter they had given him permission to join the Scottish giants.

The 46-year-old now looks set to quickly agree a deal with Rangers but it is expected to be too soon for him to be dugout for Sunday's clash at Celtic Park.
