Turkey warns Dutch will 'pay the price' over ministers' treatment

Turkey's President has warned the Netherlands will "pay the price" after two of his ministers were barred from addressing Turkish expats in the country.

In response Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan decried the Dutch as "Nazi remnants", while Prime Minister Binali Yildirim has threatened "harsh" retaliation.

Protests against the cancellation of the rally in the Netherlands have been taken place in Rotterdam and Istanbul.

Turkish PM: Retaliation will come in 'harshest ways'

Turkey has said it will retaliate in the "harshest ways" to the Dutch government after the Netherlands barred Turkey's foreign minister from entering the country.

Prime Minister Binali Yildirim threatened on Sunday: "This situation has been protested in the strongest manner by our side, and it has been conveyed to Dutch authorities that there will be retaliation in the harshest ways... We will respond in kind to this unacceptable behaviour."
