Warrenpoint Town booked their place in the final of the Mid Ulster Cup with a 3-1 win over favourites Glenavon at Mourneview Park on Tuesday night.

Stephen Murray fired the visitors ahead after slack defending allowed him a run on goal and his parting shot flew past James Taylor in the home goal.

John McGuigan gave Taylor no chance with a delightful header to make it 2-0 before Glenavon pulled a goal back when Declan O'Brien tapped in from close in after good work down the right by Guy Bates.

Glenavon were finally getting into their stride at this stage but although they had a fair amount of possession they never really troubled the Town keeper and when McGuigan drove in his second and Town's third it was all over for the Lurgan Blues.
