Police are appealing for information following an arson attack on a boat in the Anneter area of Cookstown in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Sergeant Hodge said “Shortly after 12.35 am it was reported that two people wearing balaclavas and gloves cut the moorings of the boat and set it on fire. As a result the boat was totally destroyed."

The boat was owned by Lough Neagh Fishermen’s Co-operative and used to enforce fishing licenses and ensure nets used are legal and accountable.

PSNI are appealing to anyone who with information come forward.
