Primark to open Belfast store in December

Primark's Belfast store was destroyed by a fire in August

Primark says it will open in Belfast in time for Christmas.

The clothing store will open on the 8th of December in Commonwealth House on Castle Street.

A spokesperson for the business confirmed the news on Tuesday.

It comes after Primark’s Belfast store was destroyed by a major fire in August.

The historic Bank Buildings in the city centre took several days to extinguish after the blaze broke out.

Belfast City Council’s Planning Committee granted permission for work to begin on the listed building in October.

Primark has said that it intends to open a new store in Fountain House in Spring 2019.
