Mainly dry across the west with clear spells through the evening and overnight.

However eastern counties remain cloudy with occasionally heavy rain towards the east coast.

Rain clears east in the early hours of Friday. Freshening southeasterly winds.

Minimum temperature 5 °C.

Friday:

A mainly dry, bright start. However cloud and outbreaks of rain spread east from late morning, turning persistent and heavier during the afternoon.

Severe southeasterly coastal gales developing.

Maximum temperature 11 °C.

Outlook for Saturday to Monday:

Clear or sunny spells and heavy, blustery showers through the weekend and into Monday.

The showers may merge at times to give some longer spells of rain.
