A woman has been remanded in custody after appearing in court on charges linked to the seizure of cannabis worth £250,000 in west Belfast.
Ying Lin, a 38-year-old Chinese national with an address at Cavendish Street in Belfast, was arrested by police following searches of two properties on Tuesday.
She appeared before the city’s magistrates’ court on Wednesday, charged with conspiracy to supply and possessing Class B drugs with intent to supply.
She is further accused of attempted possession of cannabis and illegal entry into the UK.
Although no further details were disclosed, a detective constable said she could connect the accused to the alleged offences.
Speaking through an interpreter, Lin confirmed that she understood the charges against her.
A defence barrister told the court: “There is currently no application for bail.”
District Judge Fiona Bagnall remanded Lin in custody to appear again by video-link on 12 December.
