Cash stolen from Christmas stall supporting homelessness

Police are investigating the theft from a stall at the Christmas Market in Belfast.

The stall of a business that supports homeless people has been targeted by thieves at Belfast Christmas market.

The owners say a "substantial" amount of money was snatched from the stall in Belfast city centre during the incident on Thursday afternoon.

For every item sold, clothing company OutsideIn has committed to give a free blanket or beanie hat to someone who is homeless.

Speaking to UTV, owner David Johnston said the theft was "devastating", but the support since had been "incredible".

Police are investigating the incident and have appealed for witnesses.
