Man, 37, arrested after pedestrians knocked down

A 37-year-old man has been arrested after two pedestrians were knocked down by a car that mounted a pavement in north Belfast.

The car also crashed into another parked vehicle.

The incident happened in the Brookvale Avenue area shortly after 7 o'clock on Monday evening.

The two men, aged in their 20s, who were walking on the pavement were taken to hospital for treatment.

It's not believed their injuries are life threatening at this time.

The 37-year-old driver of the car was arrested on suspicion of dangerous driving and possession of a blade or point.

He remains in police custody.
