Detectives say they are investigating an assault on a 17-year-old girl in Belfast city centre in the early hours of Sunday.

An appeal is being made for anyone who saw the teenager in the Malone Road/Wellington Park area of south Belfast, walking towards the city centre.

She is described as being 5ft 4ins tall and of slim build, with long brown hair past her shoulders, and was wearing a leopard print top and black leather jacket at the time.

Detectives are particularly keen to speak with a taxi driver who collected the 17-year-old, possibly in the Malone Road/Wellington Park area, at around 6am on Sunday morning and took her to an address in Dundonald.

Anyone with information is asked to contact officers on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
