Fire at south Belfast flats not treated as suspicious

Police said the fire is not being treated as suspicious.

A fire at a block of flats in south Belfast is not being treated as suspicious, police have said.

Two people suffered injuries after the blaze broke out at the Russell Court complex in the Lisburn Road area of the city on Tuesday.

The 27-year-old woman and 26-year-old man were taken to hospital for treatment.

A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “The fire was extinguished by Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service and is not being treated as suspicious at this time.”
