Police have rescued 28 cockapoo and cocker spaniel puppies in Co Antrim.
The pups were found in a pick up truck on a roadside near Larne Port.
The vehicle as stopped following a tip-off from a member of the public.
The council said the dogs will now been looked at by vets and rehomed with help from local charities.
It said the rescue comes after 17 puppies were found just before Christmas.
“We’ve been working closely with statutory organisations in recent months and it’s great to see that with this level of collaboration, almost 40 pups have been recovered,” said Patricia Allen from Mid and East Antrim Borough Council.
“A special thanks goes to the member of the public who called in. Without their help we don’t know what would have happened to these dogs.”
