Car stolen from ‘Good Samaritan’ driver in Antrim

A woman has had her car stolen in Antrim after being flagged down to help a man lying at the side of the road.

The woman was driving her blue Vauxhall Corsa along the Oldstone Road at about 11pm on Sunday when the incident occured.

She stopped to help because she feared for the man's safety.

However, he and the accomplice who had signalled for assistance then pushed her out of the way and both men made off in her car in the direction of Moira.

The woman was not physically injured, but left very shaken.

Her car has not yet been recovered.

Police are investigating and have appealed for anyone with information that could help to contact them on 101, or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
