A police officer has been injured after his car was rammed by a Jeep in Carnlough, Co Antrim.
The unmarked vehicle was almost pushed into the water during the incident, which happened while he was patrolling the harbour area overnight.
The officer tried to chase the Jeep after it sped off from the scene, however he had to abandon his efforts due to the extensive damage to his car.
A spokesperson for the PSNI said: “The injured officer sustained bruising and whiplash type injuries but continued with the rest of his shift.
“I would commend the officer concerned for both his bravery and resilience and wish him a speedy recovery."
The Jeep was later found abandoned and has been seized for forensic testing.
