A 52-year-old man from west Belfast has appeared in court charged with a number of terrorism offences.
Daniel McClean from Lagmore Gardens in the Dunmurry area appeared briefly in the dock at Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.
He is accused of membership of a proscribed organisation, namely the IRA, possession of documents likely to be of use to terrorists, and possession of a firearm.
The court appearance follows the search of a vehicle on the Stewartstown Road on Thursday after it was stopped by PSNI officers.
The accused nodded to indicate he understood the charges.
A detective sergeant told the court she believed she could connect him to the charges.
No application was made for bail and McClean was remanded in custody to appear in court again via video link on 10 May.
