An ATM has been stolen from a building in Bushmills.

The PSNI and NIFRS attended the scene at Market Square at around 3.30am on Tuesday morning to find the ATM had been ripped from the wall of the building. A digger and tractor had been set alight.

Detectives are asking anyone who saw a digger being transported on the roads in and around Bushmills or who saw the incident to contact them on the non-emergency number quoting reference 106 16/04/19.

The Market Square area in Bushmills is closed to traffic and pedestrians.

There has been a spate of ATM thefts in Northern Ireland in the last few months. Just last week the PSNI made an appeal to the public, urging people to be vigilant and help them to stop the criminals targeting ATMs.
