A couple aged in their 80s and another relative have narrowly escaped injury after a shooting at their home in Lurgan in the early hours of Monday.
At least four shots were fired at the house on the Ballynamoney Road just after midnight.
The elderly husband and wife are said to have been left in a state of shock.
A neighbour who had called with them after their ordeal told UTV they were deeply distressed by what had happened, and that they at a loss as to why their house had been attacked.
Another said the couple were “great neighbours” and that he couldn’t believe what had happened to the quiet residents.
Police have branded the gun attack “completely reckless”.
Detectives are still trying to establish a motive, but believe a car found burnt out two miles away may be linked to the incident.
PSNI Inspector Duncan McBain said: “Our enquiries are at an early stage and we are working to establish a motive for the attack, and I would appeal to anyone with information about this to call us.”
