Northern Ireland’s Jonathan Rea has finished second in World Superbikes race two at Jerez on Sunday.
Series leader Alvaro Bautista crashed after an error at the start of lap two, leaving Rea to battle it out with Michael van der Mark.
The Dutchman took his first win of 2019, while second place for Rea meant he closes the gap down to Bautista in the championship to 41 points.
In Saturday’s race, Rea apologised after a crash with Alex Lowes.
The four-time champion finished third, but was relegated to fourth following the incident, while the race was won by Bautista.
