Emergency responders are attending the scene of a major fire close to an Applegreen service station on the A26 north of Ballymena, Co Antrim.

The fire broke out on Sunday evening at premises on the Crankill Road in the Glarryford area.

It appears to have started at the building materials supplier JP Corry, beside the service station.

The operation to bring the blaze under control is understood to be affecting traffic on the dual carriageway in both directions.

Huge plumes of thick black smoke are billowing from the scene.
