Mixed results for NI sides in Europa League action

There were mixed fortunes for local sides in Europa League action on Thursday night.

Ballymena United fell to a 7-0 defeat against Swedish giants Malmo, while Cliftonville suffered a 1-0 loss to Norwegian side Haugesund.

However it's advantage Crusaders after they claimed a 2-0 win over B36 Torshavn of the Faroe Islands at Seaview.

Chris Hegarty and Philip Lowry scored in either half to put Stephen Baxter’s side into a strong position heading into next week’s return leg.
