The funeral of murder victim William ‘Pat’ McCormick has taken place in Newtownards, Co Down.
The body of the 55-year-old Comber man was found in a lake in Ballygowan last week, six weeks after he went missing after leaving his parents’ home in Ballynahinch.
There was a large turnout at Strean Presbyterian Church on Wednesday, where he had worked as a caretaker for ten years. A guard of honour was formed as his coffin was carried out of the church followed by his wife and four children.
Pat McCormick’s 14-year-old daughter Morgan told mourners he was a “wonderful, fun-loving dad” who will be missed, adding “their memories of love, laughter and happiness will never die”.
A man and a woman have appeared in court charged in connection with Mr McCormick's murder and will appear in court again next month.
