Man charged after south Belfast stabbing

A man has been charged after a stabbing incident at a flat in the University Street area of south Belfast in the early hours of Saturday.

According to police, the incident – in which a man in his 20s was injured - spilled out from a flat into the corridor at the front door of the building.

Detectives have since charged a 20-year-old man with grievous bodily harm with intent and possession of an offensive weapon with intent to commit an indictable offence.

He is due to appear before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Monday.
