Four men have been charged with attempted grievous bodily harm and other offences following a serious assault in Armoy on Sunday.
The incident happened outside a pub on Main Street in the early hours.
Police said a 48-year-old man was set upon, then a car was “deliberately driven up onto the footpath, striking the injured male”.
A number of bystanders were also assaulted, it’s understood.
Police said four suspects fled the area in the vehicle, which was later found in the Coolkeeran Road area of Ballymoney.
They said four men were found hiding in nearby gardens and were arrested.
“This was a vicious and violent attack and the victim has been left with some serious injuries, including some to his head and face,” a police spokesperson said.
The men, aged 32, 24, 23 and 22, are due to appear at Antrim Magistrates Court on 20 August.
