- Qarabag 2-1 Linfield (agg: 4-4)
Linfield have missed out on the Europa League group stages after losing to Qarabag on away goals.
The Blues were beaten 2-1 in Azerbaijan in Thursday night’s second leg as the tie finished 4-4 on aggregate.
Linfield had taken a 3-2 lead into the match after an impressive performance at Windsor Park last week.
However Qarabag scored early thanks to Jaime Romero’s goal on six minutes to take the advantage in the tie.
Linfield were still in it until late in the second half when Abdellah Zoubir scored Quarabag’s second on 88 minutes.
A late goal from Shayne Lavery made it 2-1 on the night but the Blues couldn’t find another.
It means David Healy’s side will miss out after a heroic campaign, while the Azerbaijan champions are into the draw for the group stages.
