A major international conference on suicide prevention is taking place in Londonderry this week.
The 30th World Congress of the International Association for Suicide Prevention got underway on Tuesday.
It brings together more than 800 delegates, including leading international experts on suicide prevention.
Northern Ireland has the highest suicide rate in the UK.
Last week, the Department for Health published a suicide prevention strategy aimed at reducing suicide by 10% over the next five years.
Foyle MP Elisha McCallion has welcomed the conference to Derry.
"This city, like everywhere else has felt the pain of suicide, and events like this are essential in helping to save lives,” the Sinn Féin politician said.
"I also want to commend the local organising committee for bringing this important and prestigious conference to the city."
