A fire in Belfast's Cathedral Quarter on Saturday night is being treated as arson by police.

The blaze broke out at a derelict building in Donegall Street, shortly before 9pm.

Firefighters attended the scene and brought the situation under control.

PSNI Detective Sergeant William Arnott said: "I would appeal to anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in and around Donegall Street on Saturday night, or anyone who has information that could assist us with our investigation, to contact police."
