Crues’ lead reduced after draw at Ballymena

Ballymena United have held league leaders Crusaders to a draw in Saturday’s match at the Showgrounds.

Jamie McGonigle’s penalty gave the visitors the lead, but the Sky Blues struck back with a goal from Ryan Harpur to share the points.

It means the Crues’ lead at the top of the table has been reduced to three points, after second-placed Coleraine secured a 3-0 win over Warrenpoint Town.

The goals came from Eoin Bradley and two from Ben Doherty, as the Bannsiders took a third win in seven days.

Elsewhere, Linfield eased past Dungannon Swifts at Stangmore.

Four goals in the first half gave David Healy’s side the advantage - Kirk Millar scored two, while Andy Waterworth and Joel Cooper were also on the scoresheet.

Daniel Hughes pulled one back for the Swifts in the second half as it finished 4-1.

Cliftonville beat Larne 1-0 thanks to a late goal from substitute Ryan Curran which proved the difference at Solitude.

Meanwhile Robbie McDaid’s goal helped Glentoran to a 3-1 win over Carrick Rangers.
