A man has been remanded in custody after appearing in court charged in connection with an attempt to steal an ATM from a filling station in Ballynahinch, Co Down.
Adrian Boyd, 26 and of no fixed address, appeared before Newtownards Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday for a hearing that only lasted a few minutes.
Boyd spoke only to confirm his name and that he understood the charges against him.
A bulldozer was used in an attempt to steal the cash machine from premises on the Belfast Road in the early hours of Monday.
Significant damage was caused to the shop and the roof of the forecourt also collapsed.
A 25-year-old man also arrested as part of the investigation has been charged and is due to appear in court on Thursday.
Detectives have also arrested a 22-year-old woman on suspicion of handling stolen goods and attempting to pervert the course of justice.
She remains in custody, assisting police with their enquiries.
