An early morning vigil has been held on a Co Antrim beach for the woman who died while swimming on Monday.
Deirdre McShane, a 58-year-old midwife and mother-of-two, died after getting into difficulty during a morning swim at Ballycastle beach.
Friends, family, and members of the swimming club that Deirdre McShane was part of gathered on the beach to pay their respects and to pray for her.
More than 100 people attended the short service on the beach.
It is understood Ms McShane regularly undertook sea swims in the area, but tragedy struck during her swim before work on Monday morning. She was with a friend when they both got into difficulty in the water.
It was her friend who was spotted struggling by a passer-by who desperately tried to help, rushing into the surf.
